Testimonials
“It is quite remarkable the transformation. Previously this area of the factory was quite a challenge to manage with significant uncertainty of daily outcomes and uncertainty about the levels of efficiency. There was regular disharmony within this area and with other departments. It is very pleasing to see the improvements in daily performance clearly displayed visually in the work area and passionately managed by the local team.
The team has truly embraced the spirit of continuous improvement (CI) as seen in the use of the CI system which is also reflected in the continuous improvement of results as seen in the performance metrics and control charts. Interestingly this uplift in culture, systems and performance was achieved through the training and development of a local supervisor who was previously not seen as a strong performer.
It is pleasing to share that this area now has a sense of calm and we can see how this supervisor can fulfil larger roles within our business.”

“Since GMG has engaged yourself to join/aide us on our LEAN journey, we have seen many improvements throughout both Maryborough and Gladstone facilities. There have been many changes to our internal policies and procedures to include LEAN Principles as an everyday culture throughout the company.
A big improvement was the introduction of a LEAN section within our weekly production meeting’s agenda which calls for all departments within GMG to bring a minimum of one improvement per week to the table that will be documented and discussed, this encourages all departments to be constantly looking for LEAN improvements.
Factual Proof:
A GMG Director attended a recent Team Leader/Client Manager meeting to discuss the previous 2-3 months’ profit and loss statements for the company overall.
It was highlighted that July was one of the biggest months for turnover that GMG has seen in many years, but for all of the hard work that was put into achieving this goal. It was for a negative result on the bottom line (negative profit).
The months of October and November were arguably the two months where LEAN was most prominent at GMG due to the implementation of controls and measures for LEAN Principles throughout both branches and the result on the profit and loss statements told the story. These two months were the biggest turnover that GMG has ever achieved and most importantly the profitability for both months was well above predicted levels. GMG Directors for the first time were able to see a positive outcome for the investment in LEAN Principles and training.
We look forward to continuing the LEAN journey with you into the new year and thank you for your unending dedication and excitement to LEAN Principles and for bringing the LEAN culture throughout GMG this year!
